The maximum size of our tours in the Provence is 7 people, assuring your stay is personalized and allowing
you to have a truly cultural and unique experience. Most tours are 7 days, however, we will of course accommodate your desires
and the time you have available, and can, for instance, plan extensions to visit Paris. Please let us know about your special
wishes and requirements.
On a typical
day, after a French breakfast served by the host family, we explore the
charms of the true Provence by comfortable mini van. Although the main
destinations for the day have been chosen, the itinerary for getting there
has not. There is ample time on the way for impromptu turns and stops,
and for exploratory forays along suddenly enticing country roads.
In the morning,
we stop at small mom-and-pop stores and local outdoor markets. There,
you experience the friendliness of small town Provence and we'll help
you choose the cheeses, vegetables, patés, fruits, and other ingredients
for the day's picnic. Depending on the day we might then picnic at the
foot of 2000 years old Pont du Gard; or on top of a rocky spur with our
backs to the ruins of a medieval castle overlooking the spectacular scenery;
or simply in a flowered meadow somewhere in the Provence.
We might then move on to a winery,
a roman era arena where gladiators once fought, a country road winding
through the dramatic landscape, observe flamingoes in the Camargue, or
wash our feet in the Mediterranean. We return in time to refresh and prepare
for an authentic French dinner cooked and served by the host family. We
retire for the night in comfortable rooms.
